Bio

With precise musicianship and memorable melodies, five piece progressive hard rock band Holliday strive to make an impact on the vast world of bland tasteless music. Hailing from Ventura County, California, Holliday consists of five very diverse members with different music tastes that mesh into a style all it's own. Singer Eddie Duvick's lyrics, while dark and sometimes ominous, manage to provide hope and a gleam of optimism that shine through even the darkest songs. The strong rhythm section of drummer Scott Brown and bassist Andrew Wendt provide a solid backdrop for the technical yet atmospheric guitar work of Mike West and Derek Frazier. Holliday aims to make music that not only inspires, but provides a message of hope and strength.

Lyrics

Giving

If ever there was a moment I've been scared to be alone in
It's now, It's now
Breathing in the fragrence of a dozen roses
I'm still breathing some how, some how

So take each breath, one by one, as they are given to you now
Let fear come out
And know that there's a Love that's been giving from before you heard the sound
of love break down

If ever there was a notion bleeding from such raw emotion
It's clear, It's fear
As it were, a faint reminder of the absence of serenity
It seems so far from here

So take each step, one by one, as ground is given to you now
Step from your doubt
And know there is a Love that's been giving since we came from the ground

Fall into struggle, we've seen once before
Every open window comes from a closed door.
We never expected just what we would find,
Something to believe in

RedLight for GreenLight

She dreams in stars
Oh, how they burn so free
Her constilations form
so intrepidly
He finds it so hard
to allow her to dream
as he thinks to himself
I never want her to leave

But she's so
deserving
of a heart that's better held
and a love worth serving
But he knows
If she goes
There's a good chance that she'll find out
that he's not what she needs.

Just call it an act of desperation
from a heart so insecure
He tries so hard to keep her grounded
Her ambitions obscure
Is it any surprise
Why to him, she still clings
She finds it so hard to fly
With all these pins in her wings

But she's so
deserving
of a heart that's better held
and a love worth serving
But he knows
If she goes
There's a good chance that she'll find out
that he's not what she needs.

Let it go, let it go
You know you're not alone

But she's so
deserving
of a heart that's better held
and a love worth serving
And he knows it will show
through the things he'll propose
on the phone, she's just prone
to fear being alone

Good Golly Miss Maul-Me (A Letter)

I thought I'd write you a letter
of all the things that I couldn't say
In honesty, I've been better
I didn't think you'd care much anyway

Pay attention to the words on the page
it's the least you could do considering
the bed that you've made

The weather here is a little unclear with a good chance of rain
So volatile, like the things you say
Now I try to get your words to stop
circling over my head like the vultures in the sky
but I'm not going to die

The safety of my little world
came crashing down again
And promises left unfulfilled
I feel i'm playing with that fire again

So take from me
Take what you want to please
And please yourself
It seems to be what you do best

The safety of my little world
comes crashing down again
Your promises left unfulfilled
Leave me burning in desire again

The safety of my little world
comes crashing down again
Our promises left unfulfilled
Leave us burning in desire again

A Conversation

On the tail of a restless summer day
She sits in wait, waiting behind colored lenses of grey
As if she had something to say
Shield my ears, they are beginning to ache
As the silence speaks volumes for the pain
She stares blankly, into her half empty, coffee cup
This anticipation just says enough

This conversation is getting thick
Hold on tight
This ride is makeing me sick
Equilibrium's off as I spin around

Do you care to elaborate
Or just conflagorate
Your words burn a hole through my heart
I know you know just exactly where you want this to go

This conversation is getting thick
Hold on tight
This ride is makeing me sick
Equilibrium's off as I spin around

This conversation, this conversation, is done...
